About the Conference
The 2nd Asia-Pacific Biopharma IP Summit was hosted by Zhiwen Media and Zhichan Huicui, under the joint guidance of the Shenzhen Pharmaceutical Industry Association, the IP Protection Working Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) and TCMRR. It took place on 9–11 May 2024 at the Holiday Inn Shanghai Hongqiao West.
Under the theme "IP Empowers Development, Chinese Pharma Innovates the Future", the summit gathered more than 260 industry leaders from across the country — top-tier and innovative pharmaceutical companies, generics manufacturers, leading biotech firms, the judiciary, academia and law firms.
Day one was a dedicated pre-conference seminar on traditional Chinese medicine IP, held alongside the 4th Academic Annual Meeting of the WFCMS IP Protection Working Committee. The two-day main forum that followed examined how the patent linkage system balances innovation and generic competition, IP and legal issues in BD transactions, crystal form patent strategy, patent invalidation challenges, US patent infringement disputes, mRNA patent portfolios and the recognition of offering for sale under centralised procurement listing.
