About the Conference

The 2023 Chemical IP & Innovation Development Forum was held on 24 November 2023 at the Shanghai Baisha Pagoda Junting Design Hotel. It was hosted by Qingdao Zhiwen Media Technology Co., Ltd. and the Zhichan Huicui media platform, with guidance and support from the China Chemical Enterprise Management Association, the Shanghai Polyurethane Industry Association and the Shanghai Pudong New Area Intellectual Property Association.

Under the theme "Strengthening IP protection to safeguard innovation in the chemical industry", the forum brought together nearly 200 IP counsels, legal counsel and R&D leaders from basic chemicals, petrochemicals, high-end equipment manufacturing, advanced chemical materials, chemical fibres and fine chemicals, alongside judges and practising lawyers.

The programme was organised around four tracks — corporate IP and patent protection, trade secrets, new chemical substance regulation, and the global implementation of GHS — delivered through 13 keynote presentations, two roundtable discussions and opening remarks.
