About the Conference

The 2nd New Materials IP Forum took place on 18—19 December 2025 at the Chaoyang Campus of Beijing University of Chemical Technology. It was jointly hosted by Zhiwen Consulting, Zhichan Huicui and the College of Materials Science and Engineering at BUCT, with guidance and support from the Capital IP Services Association, the Coating Anti-corrosion Technology Innovation Branch of CIPSE, and the Beijing Anti-Infringement and Anti-Counterfeiting Alliance (CAASA).

Under the theme "IP safeguarding new materials — managing risk, improving quality", the forum gathered close to 150 IPR, legal and R&D professionals from new-materials companies, together with practitioners from the legal and judicial communities.

Across two days the programme delivered 10 keynotes and 3 panel discussions, covering trademark enforcement and cross-border protection, responses to inventive-step objections, trade secret disputes, patent invalidation practice, AI-enabled R&D, patent portfolio strategy and open licensing, alongside an exhibition area.
